A 80-year-old toll booth worker is recovering after a hit-and-run driver struck her, troopers said.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said the crash occurred at the Sunshine Skyway Bridge toll plaza around 1:05 p.m. Sunday. On Monday morning, they said found a female driver, identified as 26-year-old Brittnie Ann Kenyon, who is from Cape Coral.

Investigators said Kenyon was heading southbound on Interstate 275 in a red 2013 Ford F-150 when she approached the Sunshine Skyway Bridge toll plaza. Toll workers instructed her to stop to allow another toll worker to walk in front of her truck on the pedestrian crosswalk. However, troopers said Kenyon didn’t step on the brakes, and knocked the toll worker, 80-year-old Elanie Wyman, to the ground.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said Kenyon initially stopped after the crash, but then ended up fleeing the scene by heading southbound on I-275. Wyman was transported to St. Anthony's Hospital with minor injuries and is expected to be okay.

Kenyon was cited for driving with a suspended license and for failing to provide inforamation at the crash scene.
