Hundreds line up for Slide the City in Tampa
TAMPA (FOX 13) - A 1,000-foot-long waterslide was set up for Tampa's adventurous residents to enjoy on Saturday.
Slide the City is a touring, inflatable waterslide that anyone over 5-years-old can slide down.
The slide was set up on North Boulevard near W. Palm Avenue, going over the Hillsborough River.
Many who went to the event Saturday said their main complaint was the speed at which they slipped down the slide. Organizers said the flat geography of the area made finding a good spot difficult.
However, they said the slide will be back September 17, and they will work to improve the slide's grade.
Most who attended Saturday's slide said it was well worth the wait and the cost.
On the day of the event, a single slide costs $25 and three slides costs $45. Unlimited rides during a specific time frame can be purchased for $65.
Riders were also given Slide the City inflatable tubes to use while shooting down one of the twin slides.
