Infant orangutan in Denver Zoo practices climbing skills under watchful gaze of mom
DENVER, Colo. (Storyful) - Denver Zoo’s infant orangutan Cerah is growing up fast as she approaches her first birthday, and the zoo shared an update on the ape on February 5 to allow her fans a glimpse at her progress.
Cerah is seen practicing her climbing skills while Nias, her mum, stays nearby, keeping a close eye on the youngster.
“Our nine-month-old Sumatran orangutan still spends most of her time with her mom, Nias, and big sister, Hesty, but she’s getting more independent each day,” wrote the zoo.
