Jacksonville Jaguars football player arrested after battering man
ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - A Jacksonville Jaguars football player was arrested for battering a man in St. Petersburg.
St. Pete Police arrested Dante Fowler. According to detectives, Fowler was driving in the Trellis at the Lakes apartment property located at 11150 4th Street North on Tuesday evening. A man was walking and commented about Fowler's driving.
The football player got out of his car and both got into an argument. Fowler hit the victim, knocking his glasses off. He then stepped on them, took the victim's grocery bag and threw it in the lake.
The victim was uninjured.
Fowler was charged with simple battery and criminal mischief. He was a former Lakewood High School and University of Florida football player.
The Jacksonville Jaguars released the following statement:
