Jerry Springer at election protests in Sarasota

Protests continued across the country Saturday in reaction to Donald Trump being elected as president.

The streets of Ybor City have been the primary spot for protesters to express their displeasure with the outcome, but Sarasota citizens showed up in force Saturday. At least 100 protesters held signs, marched and chanted against the president-elect.

Video sent to FOX 13 News showed famed talk show host Jerry Springer at the site of the protests, telling reporters "we have to be together."

Some in the crowd held rainbow flags, while some held signs with phrases typical of Black Lives Matter protests in recent month.

Organizers were not able to say if more protests were in the works in Sarasota.
