The man accused of kidnapping a Lakeland girl and taking her to Tennessee will be heading back to Florida to face charges here.

In his first court appearance, West Wild Hogs agreed Wednesday morning to be extradited to Polk County.  Hogs was arrested in Memphis two days ago after an alert nurse spotted his vehicle, which was the subject of an Amber Alert.

Prosecutors say Hogs took 4-year-old Rebecca Lewis from her home on Saturday morning.  He's been described as a friend of her family, but it's not yet clear why he allegedly kidnapped the girl.

Wednesday's brief hearing did not shed any new light on that aspect of the case.  Hogs said very little, merely acknowledging his understanding of the proceedings.

It's not yet clear exactly when Hogs will actually return to Florida.  Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd had previously said he wasn't sure if Hogs would face state or federal charges.

Rebecca, meanwhile, was reunited with her family yesterday.  There were plenty of tears and hugs as a small crowd of relatives greeted her at Lakeland Linder Airport.
