Large gator spotted on wildlife cam in SC park

A wildlife camera set up at a South Carolina park because of the gator activity this time of year caught an enormous alligator passing right in front of it.

The camera was set up at the Caw Caw Interpretive Center County Park.

Sara Reynolds says the wildlife cameras usually catch raccoon, deer, and the occasional bobcat, but this is the first time it caught an alligator.

It's unknown how large the alligator was, but the gator's entire body fills the screen until the tail finally passes. The park posted the video on its Facebook page and it has been viewed thousands of times.

The park contains seven miles of trails and boardwalks that make their way through various habitats. The park was once a large tea farm and previously a rice field and has been preserved because it's rich with history and wildlife.
