Large pile of recycled metals catches fire in Tampa

Firefighters responded to a fire involving a large pile of recyclable metals early Sunday morning.

The blaze was reported around 12:30 a.m. at Trademark Metals Recycling on Port Sutton Road in Tampa.

Crews arrived at the scene to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the pile of metals. The pile was roughly 100 feet wide, 200 feet long and around 15 feet tall.

The fire was knocked down in about an hour. Officials said 30 firefighters responded to the scene. There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
