Malls packed with shoppers on last shopping weekend

There were long lines and big crowds at stores this weekend.

The Saturday before Christmas, or "Super Saturday," as it has  been dubbed by retailers, is the second-largest day for sales and foot traffic in stores behind Black Friday.

In an effort to get people shopping in stores, rather than online, many businesses offered deep discounts and extended hours.

Kohl's stores are now open 24/7 leading up until 6 p.m. Christmas Eve.

Toys R Us is also offering extended hours, from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. starting Saturday through Tuesday. The toy store will operate on a 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. schedule starting Wednesday through Christmas Eve. Westfield Brandon, Citrus, and Countryside are open until 10 p.m. through Wednesday, along with International Plaza, and most other Bay Area malls.

As the deadlines for holiday shipping draw closer, Target and Walmart stores are promoting their curbside and in store, pickup, which allows shoppers to buy online and pick up in store up until Christmas Eve.
