Man dies after side of RV ripped off in accident

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla (FOX 13) - The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that killed a 52-year-old man from New York.
Joseph Rapoza of Brandon was driving his RV on I-75 in Sumter County when he left the roadway and collided with a guardrail. During the accident, parts of the RV on the driver’s side were ripped off. His passenger, 52-year-old Keith Hertik of Bay Shore, New York fell out of the hole in the RV and died.
He was transported to a local hospital but died as a result of his injures.
