Man found dead after leaving strip club with woman

Deputies said a man from Georgia left a strip club in Hernando County with a woman he met that night and was found dead in a hotel room hours later. Now, the woman has been arrested and faces a second-degree murder charge.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office said 45-year-old Jeffrey Lott, from Greensboro, Ga., was at Lollipops on U.S. 19 in Hudson Thursday evening. They said that's when he met 23-year-old Kayla Collins, along with some other people.

Investigators said the group left Lollipops and went to Denny's for breakfast. Afterward, Lott and Collins went to the Holiday Inn Express on Commercial Way in Spring Hill. That's where investigators said Collins shot Lott multiple times, then stole his car.

The motive for the shooting was not clear.

Friday afternoon, deputies in Pasco County said a tip led them to a home in New Port Richey and there they found Collins, who tried to flee, but ran into a sliding glass door instead. Deputies took her to the Land O' Lakes detention center.

She faces charges of second-degree murder, armed robbery and grand theft.
