Man shot during baby shower in Sarasota

SARASOTA (FOX 13) - Sarasota county deputies are searching for suspects they say shot and injured a man outside a home during a baby shower.

Deputies responded to the 4400 block of Caicos Court in Sarasota just before 5:30 on Saturday afternoon. Witnesses say three black males wearing hoodies approached the home and fired multiple shots toward the home, striking the victim multiple times.  

The shooters fled on foot. Multiple patrol deputies, K-9 and the Aviation Unit searched the area but were not able to locate the suspects.

The victim was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital and deputies say nobody else was injured. Detectives say this is an isolated incident and that the public is not in danger at this time.
