Dash cameras rolled in a Dade City police officer's patrol car as a man wielding a knife jumped onto the hood Thursday.

Officers were able to arrest the man, who seemed to be on a violent rampage.

Before suspect Roscoe Foster James appeared before the dash cam's lens, police say he jumped onto several cars on Morningside Drive and then stabbed a victim multiple times.

Police say the victim was able to push James away and hit him in the head with some sort of bat, sending him running. The victim had to be flown to a trauma center in Tampa.

That's when Dade City officers caught up with James. After jumping on the hood of the cruiser, officers took him to the ground and deployed a Taser to subdue him.

Dade City police say James "continued to resist violently," resulting in the injury of DCPD Officer Felix, who was treated and released.

James is charged with multiple felonies - including attempted murder - by Dade City police and the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
