Manatee County boaters missing on Lake Okeechobee
MIAMI (AP) - Florida Fish and Wildlife is searching for two boaters reported missing on Lake Okeechobee.
In a news release sent Sunday, officials said they are looking for 72-year-old John Russ and his 62-year-old wife, Diane Russ. The couple is from Myakka City in Manatee County.
They were last seen in an air boat on the lake.
The Coast Guard received a request from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to help with the search after a friend of the couple reported them missing.
A Coast Guard helicopter has been dispatched to aid in the search.
