A news photographer in South Florida noticed a crow was struggling to stay afloat during a storm surge.

Anthony Pineda, who works for WSVN in Miami, spotted the crow on 79th Street Causeway in North Bay Village. He waded through the flooded street and carefully picked up the black crow.

He returned to his news vehicle and tried warming it up with the car’s air conditioner. Pineda concluded the crow got trapped in the water and couldn’t fly away.

“He looks pretty tired,” he said. “I look as bad as the crow. I’m sure.”

When they brought the crow back to the news station, they put it inside a temporary cardboard box home and used a blow dryer to continue their warming efforts.

Once dry, they took the crow outside where it finally was able to fly away.
