Middle school classroom damaged by fire
A classroom was charred in an early morning fire at Inverness Middle School.
Citrus County firefighters responded after the fire alarm went off at 6:45 a.m.
The fire sparked in the roof in one of the wings of the school. Pictures sent out by the sheriff’s office show a hole in the school’s roof and damage in a classroom and in a hallway.
There is no summer school in session on campus -- so no one was inside.
The fire marshal is working to determine how the fire started.
