More than $100k worth of prescription drugs stolen
ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - St. Petersburg police want help identifying a man shown on surveillance video stealing thousands of dollars worth of prescription drugs.
The theft, caught by surveillance cameras inside a Walgreens on Central Ave., shows a man, estimated to be in his 20's in a hooded sweatshirt, forcing open the metal shutters at the pharmacy counter and crawling inside.
He walks around inside and grabs two baskets full of prescription pills before walking right out the front of the store.
Workers told police they noticed strange behavior, but they thought he had stolen candy.
The suspect's car is a newer black Chevrolet with Michigan plates. The partial plate number is: 6882_ _ _ _.
The suspect stole about $100,000 worth of prescription pills. "These are powerful drugs and could be dangerous in the wrong hands," police said in a release.
