The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a mother of two was found shot inside her Tampa home late Friday morning.

Deputies say it happened on Sugar Creek Drive, which is near Whisperbreath Lane and Tamarax Drive in the East Lake-Orient Park area.

Hillsborough County deputies were called to the scene around 11:49 a.m. after reports of shots fired.

When they arrived, deputies say they found a black female, apparently shot to death inside her home.

Deputies say they do not yet know who committed the murder, but they believe it is an isolated incident.

Deputies say the person who called 911 was inside the residence at the time of the shooting and was being interviewed by investigators. Maj. Losat with HCSO told FOX 13 News three people are known to live in the home and deputies had been called there before.

The scene from SkyFOX showed deputies searching a large retention ditch behind the home for evidence related to the shooting.

The victim's identity has not yet been released. HCSO said her two children were not in the home when their mother was shot.
