North Port residents on boil notice after water main break

NORTH PORT (FOX 13) - North Port utility crews fixed a major water main break Saturday afternoon, but left a precautionary boil water notice in place.

The break caused a disruption of service to the Island Walk and Gran Paradiso communities, but water began to flow again, around 3 p.m. for the estimated 1,720 homes in the area. Those residents were cautioned to boil water until further notice.

City officials say they have brought in staff to answer phone calls from affected residents, and updates on water service will be posted to www.cityofnorthport.com as they become available.
