The intersection of Martin Luther King Blvd. and Habana were closed Wednesday morning as Tampa police investigated a suspicious package, which authorities say turned out to be a utility monitoring device.

The package was reported on the southeast corner of the intersection, near a Boston Market. It appears that the package is on the property of a medical office building, however police have not confirmed the exact location.

A spokesperson for the Tampa Police Department says that officials responded to the scene with an "abundance of caution."

Traffic is affected by the incident. MLK has since been reopened, but Habana remained closed at the time of this report.
