One-on-one with the candidates for Florida governor

Andrew Gillum fired up Democrats today at campaign events in St. Petersburg and Tampa. The Democratic nominee for governor is back on the campaign trail after Hurricane Michael.

He sat down with our political editor Craig Patrick between stops. They discussed Gillum’s plans to expand Medicaid and mass transit, as well as his strategy to clean up the toxic algae in fresh waterways across South Florida.

Earlier this month, Craig sat down with Gillum's opponent, Ron DeSantis. The Republican nominee explained why he opposes expanding Medicaid.  He also said the governor was right to reject $2.4 billion in federal funding to build high-speed rail from Tampa to Orlando, and he said the answer to solving our traffic mess is to build more roads.
