Otter pups are public display at Kansas City Zoo

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (FOX 13) - The Kansas City Zoo’s newest otter pups are on display.

Han, Luke and Leia are Asian small-clawed otters. The trio were born last October. 

Zoo officials waited for the pups to get bigger, and to learn how to swim before placing them in the public’s eye. Otter pups do not know how to swim at birth, and need to be shown how.

Zookeepers made the final choice to name the pups after the main characters of “Star Wars.”
