St. Pete Pier announces outdoor ice rink, winter festival starting Nov. 20

Pinellas County residents don't have to drive to Tampa to get their fix of a winter wonderland this year. The St. Pete Pier announced it will open an outdoor ice rink as part of its inaugural Winter Beach celebration, starting November 20.

The ice skating rink will stay open through January 17, 2022 and will be the centerpiece of an outdoor holiday festival.

Skaters may enjoy themed skate nights. There will also be visits with Santa, snow days, movie nights, holiday music, festive food offerings, and a holiday market, all with a view of Tampa Bay.

The grand opening celebration is November 20 at 3 p.m., following the installation of the 4,000 square-foot ice skating rink made of real ice and a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Mayor Rick Kriseman.

Ice skating will be available during the grand opening event from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The rink will be open daily from Nov. 20 through Jan. 17, with varying hours.

Admission to Winter Beach is free, however, tickets are required to ice skate. Tickets are now on sale for $17, and include 75-minute access to the rink and skate rentals.
