Parking app finds available spots for Sarasota drivers
SARASOTA (FOX 13) - It could be a headache to find a good parking spot on the weekend.
For Sarasota residents, there is a free parking app available called, Parker. Those with an iOS and Android can download it onto their smartphones or tablets.
The app helps drivers find a public parking space in: downtown Sarasota, Southside Village, St. Armands Circle and Lido Beach. It combines data from sensors and other apps to create a real-time map showing available parking.
Street highlighted in red on the map may not have open parking spaces, streets highlighted yellow have some open spaces, and the ones highlighted in green have several available spots. The app will remind users of the parking time restrictions and where they parked. Hours of operations and prices for parking facilities are also provided in the app.
