Person in water under Howard Frankland now safe
PINELLAS COUNTY (FOX 13) - Florida Highway Patrol said the man who ended up in the water under the Howard Frankland Bridge Tuesday night jumped over the wall to avoid an out-of-control car.
He was reportedly holding on to a rope before being pulled to safety by St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue crews around 10:30 p.m. He was taken to Tampa General for evaluation.
The initial call came in around 10 p.m. for an accident involving four people on the bridge.
A second person was flown to Tampa General Hospital as a trauma alert. That person's condition was unknown.
A third patient was also taken to Tampa General hospital for evaluation and the forth patient was treated and released on scene. Florida Highway Patrol is investigating this crash.
