Police department uses humor to address addiction
WYOMING, MN - The Wyoming, Minnesota Police Department used some humor to address addiction on the non-holiday, 4/20.
In a tweet, the Wyoming, MN Police Department posted a photo of a cardboard box tilted over snack food, with a string tied to the box. It was an apparent nod to the association of April 20 with smoking marijuana and getting the munchies.
The post read, "Undercover #420 stings are underway."
The department also tweeted, "RT if you're excited to sell marijuana cigs for 4/20! Or if you're gonna host a marijuanas party today. #notacop," which was retweeted 33 times as of this writing.
In a later post to Facebook, the department added a serious note to its antics.
"All in good fun!
We like to joke around and have a good time, but on a serious note...If you or someone you know is having issues with alcohol or substance abuse, please feel free to send us a message or give us a call so we can connect you with resources to put you on a better path."
