Police: Man exposed self to girl on Treasure Island

TREASURE ISLAND (FOX 13) - Treasure Island police are searching for a man who exposed his genitals to a girl Saturday evening.

The incident happened shortly before 7 p.m.  According to police, the juvenile victim was walking along Lagoon Lane when a white four-door vehicle began driving slowly behind her. 

Police said the driver slowly passed the girl before stopping several feet ahead of her. The male driver apparently asked the victim for help and she ignored him. Moments later, the driver got out of his car and exposed himself to the girl. 

"It was very shocking," said Charmaine Insana-Smith, a Treasure Island resident who is currently helping police by sharing security footage of the suspect. 

"We saw it on the camera, and we saw him look back and all of a sudden take off and run. So we actually saw the footage of it. It was kind of creepy."

The suspect is described as white male, 25 to 35 years old, slightly overweight, with a brown or black beard and short black hair. Police said the man appeared unkempt and dirty, and was wearing a white plain T-shirt.

Investigators have released a photo of the exact vehicle involved. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Treasure Island PD.
