For 42 years, the Kresge family has decked out their house for the holidays and opened it for the public to walk through.

In addition to approximately a half million lights, the display features giant inflatables, decorated trees, and a large model train display.

A 150-piece manger scene lines the water of the pond in the Kresges' backyard.

Around each corner are several of the 700 animated characters, including Santa, snowmen, Teddy bears, and deer.

Mr. Kresge says he has three high-capacity electric meters and he uses about $5,000 worth of electricity during the holiday season.

Each year, hundreds visit the Kresges' home at 2719 Oakdale Street South in St. Petersburg, Florida.
