Rays doubleheader Saturday is MLB's first since 2011
ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - The Tampa Bay Rays are playing in a doubleheader against the Oakland Athletics on Saturday.
The games are the first scheduled doubleheader in Major League Baseball since 2011. It's also the second time ever that a doubleheader has been played at Tropicana Field.
Rays took Game one against the Athletics. The final was 6-5.
The second game is underway.
In the first game, the Rays will sport 'Turn Back the Clock' uniforms, wearing light blue retro-style uniforms that date back to the 1970s.
There were plenty of throwback snacks including Hamburger Helper in a cone and fried Kool Aid.
The Rays are currently 33-31 this season.
