The Selmon Expressway has reopened following a serious crash near the Bay to Bay Boulevard exit.

FOX 13’s traffic reporter Vanessa Ruffes reported drivers coming from Gandy Boulevard were not allowed to enter. Commuters were reporting the expressway is either crawling or at a complete halt.

The traffic crash was deemed as a trauma alert. SkyFOX aerials showed traffic backups were beyond the downtown Tampa exit. A dark minivan and white sedan were seen with extensive front end damage. The minivan had a shattered windshield. A pick-up truck was also visible sitting in the grassy median.

It’s unclear the number of people who are injured, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
