SPRING HILL (FOX 13) - A man was gunned down during his third stop in a violent, two-county crime spree, Hernando County Sheriff Al Nienhuis said.
Deputies say 59-year-old Theodore A. Parker injured one woman in Pasco County and fatally shot a man in Hernando County before being shot and killed when he tried to rob a smoke shop in Spring Hill.
The first shooting happened around 2:45 p.m. in Pasco County, where Parker allegedly shot a female acquaintance at her Hudson home. The woman's neighbor called 911 and she was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The sheriff said Parker then drive to Olsen Road in Hernando County where he fatally shot a man. Parker's relationship to the man was not immediately clear.
Parker then went to the Smokes Smoke and Vapor Shop a few blocks away, on Commercial Way in Spring Hill. Parker and an employee at the shop exchanged gunfire, deputies say.
They were both taken to the hospital where Parker was pronounced dead.
The smoke shop employee was in critical condition.
