Spearfishing accident victim removed from life support
The family of Jarrod Ditmars said Wednesday they've taken him off life support after a terrible spearfishing accident in Sarasota and he has died.
Police said Ditmars, 21, was spearfishing Saturday afternoon near the Sarasota Yacht Club when his friend's gun went off by accident. The arrow hit Ditmars in the head.
Ditmars' parents said his friend, Dale Bartush, was distraught about the accident. No charges will be filed.
