St. Pete police seek gas station robbery suspect

Police need help in finding an armed robber who stole cash from a gas station, they said.

St. Petersburg police shared surveillance video of the crime on their Facebook page. They said the alleged robber stole cash from the Exxon located at 3061 1st Avenue North on Sunday around 11 p.m.

The suspect is seen entering the front door entrance, quickly walking toward the front counter and pointing a possible gun at the cashier. The clerk opens the cash register and the suspect reaches over and snatches the money inside of it. The employee then crouches behind the counter as the suspect fled.

The suspect was masked, said police. They asked if anyone recognizes anything about him, such as how we walked or what he was wearing, to text the "SPPD" and your tip to 847-411 or call the non-emergency line at 727-893-7780.
