CLEARWATER, Fla. (FOX 13) - A Clearwater murder investigation just hit the 90-day mark, and police have yet to make an arrest.
David Swan, 88, and his wife Mina, 80, were found dead in their Flushing Avenue home on September 29.
Police believe the elderly couple was targeted, but have turned to the public for further answers in the case.
Before the holidays, authorities placed electronic message boards in high visibility roadways and intersections.
The unique move yielded little results before the holiday season.
Noel Devine, daughter of Mina Swann, celebrated a birthday on Christmas. A first, without her mother.
"We just took a walk outside. Sat on a neighbors desk, and watched the sunset on Christmas. Obviously, it was a beautiful Florida day but it's so sad," Devine remembered. "She would have loved it."
It's been a three-month search for answers for the Swan's adult children.
"Three months it seems so long. There's so much that the police have to do that we've tried to help them with. You know, it seems at the same time there's not enough time," Devine explained.
The Swan's left behind seven adult children, and more than a dozen grandchildren.
Devine says the Clearwater Police Department has the full support of the family.
"I know they never forget and they never give up, and they promised me they will never give up."
