Stylists help homeless with haircuts
TAMPA (FOX 13) - A pair of scissors, a blow dryer, and a good stylist can give more than your hair a boost.
It can build confidence.
For 19 years, Hair Cuttery in Tampa has been participating in an event that gives back to those who may not be able to afford this luxury. It's called Share A Haircut.
"Any client that walks in, we donate a haircut service to homeless people in our area," said Beth Herter of Hair Cuttery.
The hope is that a good trim can lead to a big gain.
"This is a way that they possibly could get back into the work field, maybe they have an interview coming up and they need to look nice and sharp."
The service benefits clients and the community.
"It's really nice to know that the contribution that you make is going to go to someone else who needs help," said customer Robert Hall.
