Suspect killed during liquor store robbery
TAMPA (FOX 13) - A suspect is dead after a shooting at a Tampa liquor store Sunday.
The shooting happened around 10:45 p.m. in the 3300 block of 15th Street. According to Tampa police, someone called 911 and reported gunfire from inside 15th Street Cut Rate Liquors.
Officers arrived and found a suspect dead on the sidewalk.
Crime scene technicians recovered a handgun nearby. Preliminary information released by TPD indicates two suspects entered the store, waved a gun, and exchanged gunfire with the clerk.
A bullet struck one suspect, who died at the scene. The search continues for a second suspect.
The clerk is OK.
Investigators are checking surveillance cameras for clues. Anyone with information is asked to contact Tampa police.
