Suspect named 'Scooter' fled after shooting two at Bradenton club, deputies say
BRADENTON, Fla. (FOX 13) - Manatee County deputies are searching for a suspect involved in a double shooting at a club.
The shooting resulted in a large response from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office as they searched for the suspect, who has been described as a man named “Scooter.”
According to investigators, the two victims and Scooter were inside The Spot on 26th, located at 4307 26th Street West in Bradenton. A verbal argument began but tensions continued after the club closed.
Investigators said a fist fight broke out between one shooting victim and the suspect. The second victim tried to interview when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot both victims. The suspect fled in an unknown direction, detectives said.
One shooting victim ran toward Waffle House, where a bystander drove him to a hospital. The second victim collapsed by the back door of the club. Both are alive but deputies said their conditions are not known.
Nearby roads for closed for a few hours as deputies searched for a suspect. He is described as a black male, possibly 23 years old, 6 feet tall, and has a “stocky set.”
