Port Richey police are looking for a man they say stole a loaded gun from an unlocked vehicle.

Surveillance video shows the alleged theft, which happened between 3 and 5 p.m. Saturday at a home on Queener Avenue.

Police say the owner of a 2005 Cadillac left the loaded Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard .380, plus two loaded magazines, inside the unlocked car.

The suspect simply opened the vehicle door and took the items.

Port Richey officers say they're getting multiple reports of vehicle burglaries in the last few days. They suspect the same person is behind all of them.

The suspect was described as between 25 and 35 years old. He was wearing a stocking cap, a light-colored, long-sleeved shirt, dark pants, slides, and was carrying a cinch sack on his back.

Detectives say they also have a photo of a white man wearing a stocking cap and carrying a bag on his back, but they're not sure if the photos are of the same man.

Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of this suspect. Anyone with any information and who wants to be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), report anonymously online at www.crimestopperstb.com, or send a mobile tip using the P3 Tips Mobile application.
