Suspect wanted in overnight motel shooting

Police are searching for the suspect in an early-morning motel shooting.

Tampa police investigators say it happened around 2:30 a.m. at the Seminole Motel on Florida Avenue.

One victim, 25-year-old Joe Paul, was shot several times, and has been rushed to the hospital with what officials believe are non-life-threatening injuries.

Another man in the room at the time, 34-year-old Jonathan Bennett, identified the suspect as 47-year-old Luis Antonio Lefranc. 

He and Paul told investigators Lefranc was outside of the motel room yelling for Paul to come out, and when he didn't, he fired several shots into the room. 

Paul was said to be struck three times. 

They ask anyone with information on Lefranc's whereabouts to contact TPD.
