Suspects in string of robberies left behind handgun, deputies say
LAND O' LAKES (FOX 13) - Pasco County deputies are searching for suspects involved in two Land O’ Lakes robberies, with one victim identified as an Uber driver.
Early Thursday morning, deputies responded to the first robbery call at the White Room Bar, located at 6454 Land O’ Lakes Boulevard. According to a press release, the two suspects attempted to rob a Hispanic male who was standing near his vehicle outside the business.
A suspect pointed a gun at the victim, but he ran from them, deputies said. When he looked back, he saw them attempting to enter his locked car, but were unable to. The first suspect was described as a thin black male with a black handgun. He was wearing a white, red and gold hoodie. The second suspect was described as a heavy black male, wearing a white shirt and jeans.
The victim told deputies the suspects ran south and disappeared. Nothing was stolen from the first victim, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
While deputies were investigating, a second victim approached them and explained he was robbed at gunpoint by suspects at Natural Market, located at 4204 Land O’ Lakes Boulevard. The suspects’ description matched the ones involved in the first robbery, according to a media release.
The victim, who was an Uber driver, told deputies his cellphone and wallet were taken. Deputies said the suspects drove up to him in a red 4-door sedan. Two exited the vehicle and a driver remained inside. The suspects dropped a glove and a small pistol as they fled.
Deputies said they are looking through surveillance video to find images of the suspects. There are no reported injuries, and no further information was provided.
