Tampa police search for road-rage shooter

An angry driver reportedly fired his gun toward another driver during a fit of road rage Monday afternoon.

Tampa police said the incident happened around 3 p.m. near 17th Street and Busch Blvd. A woman told investigators she slowed down to make a turn and noticed the driver behind her was yelling and behaving aggressively.

The victim said the man fired his gun toward her car.

According to police, the victim was not injured and her car did not have any bullet holes, but a shell casing was found at the scene.

"It's still a very scary thing that somebody might do something like that," said Steve Hegarty, spokesman for TPD.  "At this point we're looking for video, anything we can find to try to nail down this red car."

A description of the man has not been released, but witnesses told police he was driving a red four-door car.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Tampa Police Department.
