Tampa police searching for armed suspects in jewelry theft

A day at work became frightening for two Tampa jewelry store employees after they were held at gunpoint, police said, and officials are searching for the suspects.

On Monday, around 5:10 p.m., the two unidentified suspects heavily disguised themselves, posing as customers. In order to gain entry into Ultra Jewelry, located at 3326 Columbus Drive West, employees must unlock the entry doors. The female employees working inside let them in, police said.

After they entered, the male suspects showed a silver revolver with a black handle and forced the two employees to the lay on the ground, according to Tampa police.

Investigators said the suspects escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry. They fled in a black Ford F-150, believe to be a 2019 XL or XLT model with no tint on the front windows. The female suspect was seen carrying a large Louis Vuitton purse and a black Air Jordan bag. The male suspect wore a hate with "OAN" or "CAN" written in large letters.
