Tampa police searching for suspect accused of shooting man during heated argument near TPA
TAMPA, Fla. - One man is in the hospital, and one is on the run after police say a heated argument turned to gunfire on Friday morning.
It happened shortly before noon on the northeast sidewalk near the intersection of N. O’Brien St and W. Spruce St. in Tampa.
Police say two men were arguing before gunshots rang out.
The victim, who has only been identified as an adult Hispanic male in his late 40s, was taken to a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdominal area.
He is currently listed in serious condition and being treated for his injuries.

The suspect has been described as an adult Black male with long dreads, wearing a black beanie, black jacket, and unknown colored pants, who was pulling a roller bag.
While this did not occur on airport property, TPD said Tampa International Airport police assisted in the original response and helped with traffic control.
Westbound traffic along Spruce St. was temporarily redirected as officers conducted the investigation. All traffic has since reopened.
