The Incredible Duck Race was held Saturday on the Hillsborough River in Tampa.

The annual event benefits the Kiwanis Club of Tampa, which donates the funds raised to children's programs in Hillsborough County.

Prior to the race, people can "adopt" a duck for $5 each. The duck that crosses the finish line first is worth $5,000. There are also prizes for the second and third-place duck.

Organizers said they had 10,000 ducks participating in the race.

Shortly after it ended, the winners were announced: Matthew Sanchez (1st place), Kelly Smith (2nd place), and Daniel Moore (3rd place).
