FOX 13's Charley Belcher was at the pep rally at Wesley Chapel High School Friday morning but it was students in the American Sign Language program who took center stage for a bit with their version of the National Anthem.

While the high school band played, dozens of students signed along.

The program at the school began in 2013 and has expanded over the years, growing to 297 students. There are three levels in the program and the school is hoping to add a fourth as it grows. The program is led by teachers Kandis Alfonso and Miranda Oller. "We are excited to see where the students can help take this program and encourage them to share their ideas," said school principal Carin Nettles.

There is also an American Sign Language club and after school events open to all students.
