Truck suspected in fatal hit-and-run located, ruled-out

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says investigators found and have ruled out the truck previously thought to be involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash Sunday.

The sheriff's office said traffic detectives positively identified the driver and the truck seen in photos released Thursday.

"Neither the driver nor the truck [was] involved in this crash. This is no longer a vehicle of interest," the sheriff's office said on its Facebook page.

This means the search for a suspect in the death of a father of three is back to square one.
