Tyson recalls popcorn chicken due to possible foreign matter contaminates

Tyson Foods, Inc. is recalling approximately 1,148 pounds of frozen popcorn chicken products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically hard plastic, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The problem was discovered when the establishment received a consumer complaint from a school regarding foreign material, specifically hard plastic, found inside a bag of Tyson brand whole grain popcorn chicken product.

The effected product is Tyson® Fully Cooked Golden Crispy Popcorn Chicken that sold to a single wholesale distributor in Illinois. 

According to Tyson Foods, no injuries have been reported with this recall.  

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-1325” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to a wholesale distributor in Illinois and further distributed to schools and food services in Missouri and Illinois.

Customers who have received this product are being notified directly and will be instructed how to best destroy it and receive full credit.
