Dozens of Tampa kids will have free new bicycles just in time for summer vacation.

100 bikes were put together at the Jeff & Penny Vinik Family Boys & Girls Club this week by volunteers with the non-profit group On Bikes, as well as volunteers with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

"At On Bikes we are a non-profit that builds and donates new bikes to at-risk and foster kids. Today we are partnering with the wonderful people at the Tampa Bay Lightning," said On Bikes
Executive Director Sarah Breseman. "The Lightning sent us 100 people to help us get this done today."

Among those pitching-in were Pro Football Hall of Famer and Super Bowl Champion Derrick Brooks, as well as Hockey Hall of Famer and Stanley Cup Champion Dave Andreychuk.

"Very exciting. This is my second time building the bikes for On Bikes, so I'm a seasoned veteran at it," said Andreychuk. He then went on to explain his task for the day,"I'm gonna get the bike, take it out of the packaging, and put it up on the table, and then the assembly line will start."

It took the volunteers around two hours to assemble the 100 bikes.
