Walmart tops most-shopped list
TAMPA (FOX NEWS) - Love it or hate it, you're shopping there. More than half of all shoppers in the country visit a Walmart location in a given month, making the retail giant the most popular store in America.
According to Placed Insights, a data service company, the most popular stores are primarily fast food, discount retail, and pharmacy chains. McDonald's claimed the number two spot; Subway, Starbucks, and Walgreens rounded out the rest of the top five.
One of Walmart's chief competitors, Target, came in sixth. CVS, Taco Bell, Burger King, and Dollar Tree rounded out the rest of the top 10.
There was one gas station on the list, Shell, which ranked 12th.
24/7 Wall Street reviewed foot traffic figures at major U.S. stores provided by Placed Insights, which calculated the percentage of Americans 13 and older who visited various stores in April.
