Weeki Wachee Springs hiring mermen
WEEKI WACHEE SPRINGS (FOX 13) - Many little girls growing up in Florida dream of growing up to be a Weeki Wachee Springs Mermaid, but what about the boys?
The attraction draws thousands every year, but the Mermaids are only part of what makes the show special.
So, just in time for summer, Weeki Wachee Springs is accepting applications for the position of Underwater Performer-Prince.
We are going to translate this job title into Merman.
The job is four to five days a week, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., at $10 an hour.
The selected candidate(s) will actually work for the state of Florida, making it the only state where Mermaids and Mermen is an official government title.
Unlike the tryouts for Weeki Wachee Springs Mermaids, applicants for this position will interview and audition individually and by appointment.
For more information, visit the job listing on Facebook. To apply, send the completed state application, a resume, and a headshot to weekihr@gmail.com.
